Fish Hawk X4 Electronics

Starting out in Northern Illinois in the early 1970's, Fish Hawk Electronics was one of the first companies to make sonar depth finders (similar to the Lowrance Green Box.) At that time, stocked Pacific salmon were taking hold in nearby Lake Michigan. Anglers figured out that these exciting new fish were very sensitive to water temperature. Demand increased for devices that measured the water temperature and speed at various depths and Fish Hawk introduced a temperature probe on the end of a cable with a line counter that told you how deep the probe was. As downriggers became popular, fishermen also learned that underwater currents affected the action of their lures and made a big difference in their catch. Using their sonar engineering experience, Fish Hawk developed a probe that told anglers the water temperature and speed at their downrigger ball by using a sonar signal to transmit data from the probe back to the boat. The first Fish Hawk Thermo-Troll systems were cutting-edge technology, and as the salmon fishery boomed, thousands of anglers put Fish Hawk systems on their boats. Various models of Fish Hawk Thermo-Troll Systems were manufactured from the late 1970's through 2005. A lot has changed in forty-plus years of fishing, but the importance of water temperature and trolling speed has not!

Introduced in 2009, the Fish Hawk X4 is the result of four-decades of fishing experience combined with modern components and design. The Fish Hawk X4 remains the only wireless speed and temp system on the market today.
